Farmers are now less restricted by transportation regulations
Legislators worked successfully with farmers and implement dealers to change laws
and MnDOT regulations, increasing “first haul” mileage and making it easier to transport
farm equipment. The deregulation on first hauls is particularly important as farmers
have to go farther to get their product to market when elevators close and consolidate.
